Lousas Camino Novo 2021

$825.00

$137.50 per bottle | $825.00 case of 6

Camino Novo is a blend of 85% Mencía and 15% Alicante Bouschet from 70 year-old vines in a south-east facing single parcel located in Amandi, at 430 meters elevation.

Like the other Lousas wines, Camino Novo’s marked by extreme purity, lifted aromatics and delicious savouriness. It’s a shame there’s little of it, but that makes it all the more special.

Bright scents of fresh raspberries, strawberries, red cherries and red plums. Fruit forward and nicely balanced, with delicate tannins and a lingering finish..

VINTAGE REPORT: In Galicia, 2021 was a classic vintage in Ribeira Sacra, a throwback to earlier times: abundant rain in the fall and winter, a dry and warm March, and then a cool April and May that threatened (but did not deliver) frost damage. The summer started humid and mild but became hot and quite dry, with a few scattered storms that moderated ripening. Harvest started on September 11th.
