"Roses" says it all!
The Altaroses was Joan d'Anguera's first certified bio-dynamic and organic wine.
The Garnatxa grapes, grown in limestone and clay soils. The malolactic fermentation takes place in concrete vats using indigenous yeasts. Aged for 12 months in old oak, the wine in naturally cold stabilized by the winter’s chill, then bottled unfined and unfiltered.
The nose is that of fresh, wild strawberries, garrigue and toasted spices. Very expressive, it has mouth-watering acidity and soft, ripe red fruits coming through on the finish. Possessing an excellent balanced structure, there is a lively interplay of acidity, tannin, fruit and alcohol.
This is an “easy” wine to consume but maybe not so easy to understand and in a blind tasting you’ll swear it wasn’t from the Montsant!
