Josep Foraster Trepat is a single-vineyard Trepat from the D.O. Conca de Barberà. The grapes come from 50-year-old vineyards located 500 metres above sea level with limestone and clay-infused soils. After the grape bunches have been selected, the harvest is carried out late when the grapes are mature.
The maceration process is carried out cold, and indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation. Josep Foraster Trepat is aged in 300 and 500 litre French oak barrels, in which it rests for five months.
On the nose intense, sweet and fresh notes of ripe red fruits, wild flowers, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and red berries. A fine taste in the mouth, complex and good acidity, soft tannins on the palate and light notes of red fruits. Notes of sour cherries and smoky notes, liquorice and oak.
