The Taste The 2023 vintage is defined by its striking aromatic complexity—think white flowers, apricot skin, and a distinct waxy texture. On the palate, it is bone-dry and lean, showing a beautiful tension between its natural richness and the high-altitude acidity. The aging in large oak foudres provides a silky mouthfeel without any intrusive woody flavors, leading to a long, mineral finish.

The Story Winemaker Bryan MacRobert focuses on the "forgotten" plots of Rioja Alavesa. This Malvasía is sourced from low-yielding, old vines grown on the region's signature calcareous clay soils. The vineyards are certified organic by ENEEK, reflecting Bryan's hands-off philosophy in the field. Like the Viura, it is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for a full year on its lees to build structure and complexity. This is a small-production gem that showcases the potential of Rioja's traditional white varieties.
