The Origin: Mas Candí is Ramon Jané and Mercè Cuscó, in the village of Les Gunyoles at the edge of the Garraf Massif in the Penedès. The Cuscó family has farmed this land since the 1600s and for generations sold its grapes to the large Cava houses; in 2006 the couple began bottling under their own name. Desig comes from Xarel·lo vines more than 50 years old in Les Gunyoles, on clay-limestone at 280 m.

The Profile: Yellow-gold of medium intensity. Pear, golden apple, pineapple and fennel on the nose. The palate is broad and smooth, with the mineral grip of old vines and good acidity, closing on the bitter edge typical of Xarel·lo. Dry: under 0.5 g/l residual sugar, 12.71% alcohol, 4.9 g/l acidity. 91+ points, The Wine Advocate. Young and tight on release; best from 2027.

The Craft: Hand-picked into boxes. The juice spends 24 hours on the skins before pressing, then ferments and rests on its lees in stainless steel. No oak. Bottled February 2026; 13,215 bottles.

The Pairing: Serve at 8–10°C. Grilled white fish, clams, artichokes, or pa amb tomàquet with anchovies.
