    Estancia de Silencio is a tasty organic Monastrell wine made by the four Pacheco sisters in Jumilla. Their family-run winery dates back to 1948 when Francisco, the current generation’s late grandfather, began to make wine from his modest winepress at the family farm. 

    In Jumilla, the Monastrell grape thrives in the dry climate and rough chalky soil.

    Estancia del Silencio conveys plum, blackberries, and figs on the nose while the palate brings crisp structure and a touch of baking spices.

    Finca el Peruco is made with 85% Tempranillo and 15% Albillo. The vineyard is at an altitude of over 900 metres, making it one of the highest spots in the Ribera del Duero. The vines grow in chalky, calcareous soil.

    Harvested very early, the grapes are hand-picked into small boxes. The grapes were de-stemmed and then macerated in the cold. The must was fermented with native yeasts in old oak barrels for 3 weeks. It was then raised in similar French oak barrels for 16 months, without any addition of sulfur.

    The nose is complex, slightly reduced with fleshy aromas.

    In the mouth, it is light and mineral with saline notes. The wine has very good acidity that makes it refreshing. As time goes by, the wine opens up towards mature notes that reflect aging in wood.

    This is a very special red, containing white grapes, that give it a unique personality. Utterly delicious!

    The Finca L’Argatà 2016 is made from Garnatxa fermented in concrete, then aged in old oak barrels. The old vine Garnatxa in the 2016 vintage has a higher level of refinement than previous vintages, as the brothers continue to develop their approach to winemaking.

    Bright ruby-red, the Finca l’Argata offers aromas and flavours of ripe dark berries and cherry, liquorice and smoky herbs.

    Fleshy and broad on entry, then tighter in the middle, the Finca l’Argata tastes of sweet cherry compote, blackberry, with a touch of bitter chocolate. Dusty tannins help shape the long, floral and spice-accented finish.

    Finca Los Quemados is a delicious red wine with floral aromas of violets and red and black fruits such as cherries, blueberries and blackcurrants on the nose. There are also undergrowth, mineral and balsamic notes.

    On the palate it has a powerful entrance with marked but silky tannins. The fruit is reaffirmed accompanied by a subtle minerality. It is sweet, fresh and pleasantly acidic. A balanced wine with a long and persistent finish.

    This Mencia is exceptional.

    The grapes come from extremely steep slopes rich in decayed granite. They are naturally farmed, naturally fermented, and the Fusco is bottled without filtration or fining, which is clear in the wine's opaqueness in the glass.

    Ribeira Sacra is in the center of Galicia, a cooler and particularly rainy place so Mencia can come across as stemmy, unripe, green peppery.

    Albamar's Fusco makes that hard to believe though, it's so deliciously supple and juicy!

    The hand harvested Manto Negro (90%) and Syrah (10%) grapes, grown in calcareous clay with boulders that heat-up in the afternoon sun, are fermented with natural yeasts in stainless, then matured for 12 months in 500L French barrels, followed by 6 months in 4000L French oak foudre and 6 months in bottle.

    Garnet in colour, with a purple trim, the nose provides expressive aromas of raspberry and blueberry. You may also note a subtle menthol background and toasted wood.

    In the mouth, the entry is light, with sweet tannins at the fore. Nicely balanced with excellent acidity, there is an abundance of red fruit to engage the palate, followed by a spacious, elegant and persistent finish.

    Garcia Georgieva Albillo 2018 is a blend of Natural white wine made with the Albillo and Malvasía grape varieties produced by the Goyo García Viadero winery in Castile and León , Spain .

    The grapes with which the Goyo Georgieva Blanco de Albillo y Malvasía wine is made come from vineyards located in Gumiel de Mercado , in the province of Burgos , 900 meters above sea level on sandy and stony soils.

    This blend mainly contains the Albillo variety which is complemented by the grape variety rich in aromas of Malvasía . After the harvest, the grapes arrive in the cellar where they macerate with their skin for about 35 days and spontaneously ferment with their native yeasts. The wine carries out the malolactic fermentation, is aged with its fine lees and is finally bottled without filtration and without adding sulfur.

    This mountain white is made with 100% Godello hand-harvested from the best grapes on Gregory's small plots in the villages of Cacabellos, Valtuille and Villafranca in Spain's Bierzo region. The Valtuille and Villafranca soils are infused with calcerous clay, while Cacabellos' soils are infused with stone. 

    The wine was fermented with wild yeasts in wooden foudre and raised for ten months on fine lees in two 4,000 litre oval wooden vats.  There is a wonderful smoky minerality to this wine with notes of grapefruit, powder and savoury. 

    The finish offers deep earthy mineral notes, and a perfumed, mouthwatering length.

    Tasting one of Goyo García’s wines is like taking a delightful trip back in a winemaking time machine. Goyo is a descendant of one of the most well-respected winemaking families in the Ribera de Duero region, and the talented  genes have definitely been passed on.   

    All of Goyo's wines are de-stemmed, fermented exclusively with wild yeast, and nothing is added during elevagé (including SO2). The wines are raised in old French barrels at an underground, century-old cueva located in Gumiel del Mercado.

    This method has become somewhat of a trend for more contemporary winemakers. For Goyo, it has been his tried and true way of doing things since he began making wine back in the 80’s. He uses these traditional winemaking methods in order to express a flavour profile that reflects the overall vineyard rather than the individual grape varietal.

    Josep Foraster Trepat  is a single-variety Trepat from the D.O. Conca de Barberà. The grapes come from 50-year-old vineyards located 500 metres above sea level with limestone and clay-infused soils. After the grape bunches have been selected, the harvest is carried out late when the grapes are mature. 

    The maceration process is carried out cold, and indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation. Josep Foraster Trepat is aged in 300 and 500 litre French oak barrels, in which it rests for five months.

    On the nose intense, sweet and fresh notes of ripe red fruits, wild flowers, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and red berries. A fine taste in the mouth, complex and good acidity, soft tannins on the palate and light notes of red fruits. Notes of sour cherries and smoky notes, liquorice and oak.
