The Vibe Macabeo has a reputation problem — it's the bulk grape of cheap Cava, picked early and kept neutral. This is what happens when you leave it alone on 50-year-old vines in the Tarragona interior, let it ferment cold in stainless steel with meticulous lees work, and give it six months to build structure and long-term life. The Mediterranean doesn't show up in the vineyard address — it shows up in the glass, in the salinity and the brightness that defines everything Vinyes del Terrer makes.

The Taste White peach, apricot, and subtle florals on the nose, woven with a saline minerality that reflects its maritime origins. The palate is vibrant and textured — ripe Fuji apple, canary melon, a hint of buttered toast — with a crisp, lingering finish. The creamy texture is earned entirely through lees contact and meticulous stirring, not oak — the result is richness with no weight, and freshness with real persistence.

The Story The Teixidó family planted their first vines in 1989 on a farm that had belonged to Eduard's great-grandfather, and after 14 years of farming, bottled their first vintage. The estate sits in Vila-Seca, 2km from the Mediterranean, on lumaquel·la soils — a Catalan term for limestone embedded with marine fossils — that drive the mineral character across all their wines. The estate holds CCPAE organic certification and farms nine parcels across seven hectares without chemical fertilisers or pesticides. Blanc del Terrer is sourced from a separate old-vine plot in the Tarragona interior — the altitude and clay-limestone soils there give the Macabeo the aromatic expressiveness and acidity the coastal site alone couldn't achieve.
