Alvar de Dios is the rebellious winemaker shaking up the Toro D.O., a region once known for its bold, leather-clad wines, reminiscent of the over-the-top looks from the 80's.
Hailing from the winemaking village of El Pego, Alvar set out on a quest to learn and perfect his craft beyond his hometown. Embracing organic and biodynamic practices, he defies tradition, crafting ultra-fresh, nuanced, and ethereal creations.
With vineyards in both Toro and the Gredos mountains, Alvar discovered the captivating terroir of Arribes, reminiscent of Gredos with its high-altitude soils infused with granitic sand and expressive indigenous grapes.
His wines exude the same refreshing spirit as his full karaoke performances—a true force to be reckoned with in the wine world.
