The Origin: Mas Candí is Ramon Jané and Mercè Cuscó, in the village of Les Gunyoles at the edge of the Garraf Massif in the Penedès. The Cuscó family has farmed this land since the 1600s and for generations sold its grapes to the large Cava houses; in 2006 the couple began bottling under their own name. Desig Rosado comes from vines more than 40 years old in Les Gunyoles, on clay-limestone at 280 m.
The Profile: A dry rosé at a moderate 12% alcohol, with 3.9 g/l acidity and under 1.5 g/l residual sugar. Its eight months in tank before bottling is longer than most rosés get.
The Craft: Hand-picked into boxes and pressed directly, with no maceration on the skins. Aged eight months in stainless steel. Bottled March 2026; 10,215 bottles. Macabeu is the Catalan name for Macabeo (Viura).
The Pairing: Serve at 8–10°C. Grilled prawns, tuna, charcuterie, or anything with romesco.
