Created from a blend of 30 - 60 year old primarily Xarel-lo, and small amounts of Malvasia de Sitges and Xarel.lo Vermell, the vineyards grow on the estate’s hillsides in Can Comas' limestone soil.
Rupestris evokes the strength of the rock, the purity of the earth, something primitive, rustic, wild, ancient and authentic.
Initial aromas of citrus give way to pear and ripe melon, quince and soft hazelnut. These gorgeous tones are enhanced by the Mediterranean Sea and herbs, including lavender.
In the mouth, it’s full of character: glycerine is ample; so too are the fresh, fruity ﬂavours of pear, apricot and peach. The ﬂinty acidic background provides ample tension and an electric, fresh and slightly bitter aftertaste.
